About the Authors
Ellen J. Miller was, for 27 years, an administrator at Harvard Law School. She is co-editor of All This Reading: The Literary World of Barbara Pym (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 2003) and principal writer of Images of America: Carlisle (Arcadia Publishing Company, 2005). Her cousin was a long-time Window Shop employee.
Ilse Heyman is a Holocaust survivor who was assistant manager of the Window Shop Gift and Dress Shop for 25 years. In November 2005, she received a Peace and Justice Award from the City of Cambridge and is currently a member of the Peace Commission.
Dorothy Dahl joined the Window Shop
Board in 1955 and served two terms as its president. After the Shop
closed, she presided over the Scholarship Fund until 1987. She is a
board member of the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, which now
occupies the Window Shop’s former home.
